| Grimsvotn volcano eruption: Iceland imposed partial ban over flights |
REYKJAVIK, Iceland (May 22) – As it was reported earlier here; Grimsvotn volcano eruption in Iceland can halt the local flight due to huge amount of smoke and ashes mounting sky-high. The Grimsvotn volcano lies beneath the unpopulated Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland and has been sleeping for 7 years.
Lately, Iceland forced a flight ban and closed its main airport after the country's most active volcano, Grimsvotn, erupted and a huge cloud of smoke and ash is stretching 20 km into the air.
The eruption from Eyjafjallajokul volcano in April 2010 has created an air travel chaos. According to experts; the latest eruption from Grimsvotn volcano is not too serious to create air travel problems on large scale right now.
