CONCORD, N.H. – “I wished Osama bin Laden killed my Math teacher.” These are the comments of a 13-year-old Rundlett Middle School student, she posted on her Facebook wall, for which she got 5-day suspension orders from her school administration.
Kimberly Dell'isola, the mother of the suspended girl, reacted in anger saying that she admitted the post was insulting but thought the punishment was too extreme and her daughter was entitled to free speech.
Dell'isola further said she generally kept an eye on her daughter's use of the social networking website but found out about this specific post when she received a phone call from the school's principal. She said a parent of one of the girl's friends reported the comment to school administration.
Rundlett Middle School’s principal Tom Sica refused to comment due to student privacy rights.
