REYKJAVIK, Iceland (May 23) – As it was reported earlier here; Grimsvotn volcano eruption in Iceland can halt the local flight due to huge amount of smoke and ashes mounting sky-high. The Grimsvotn volcano lies beneath the unpopulated Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland and has been sleeping for 7 years.

Lately, Iceland forced a flight ban and closed its main airport after the country's most active volcano, Grimsvotn, erupted and a huge cloud of smoke and ash is stretching 20 km into the air. 

The eruption from Eyjafjallajokul volcano in April 2010 has created an air travel chaos. According to experts; the latest eruption from Grimsvotn volcano is not too serious to create air travel problems on large scale right now.

Huge amount of smoke and ashes can be seen from distance ...

Series of small earthquakes have also been reported by Iceland's Meteorological Office due to Grimsvotn latest eruption.
