Pakistani Journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad Found Dead in Sarai Alamgir after Missing for Two Days

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (May 31) — Syed Saleem Shahzad, the missing journalist, has been found dead today afternoon near Islamabad. Police sources told that the he was tortured brutally before killing.

According to further details; Slaeem Shahzad was reported missing since last Sunday (May 29); when he vanished mysteriously after leaving his home in Islamabad. He was due to take part in a television talk show, but never reached there. 

The body of the 40-year-old journalist was identified by his family members after being found near his car in Sarai Alamgir, 150 kilometres (93 miles) southeast of Islamabad.

Reportedly, Saleem Shahzad was engaged with an Italian news agency and an online news site registered in Hong Kong. He disappeared two days after publishing an undercover story in Asia Times Online that Al-Qaeda carried out last week's PNS Mehran attack to avenge the detention of naval officials arrested on suspicion of Al Qaeda links.
