Half of the Firms in United Kingdom Restricted Their Employees to Access Social Websites at Worlplace

LONDON – The results of a new research, conducted by HCL Technologies and Lewis PR, concluded that almost one half of the firms in United Kingdom restricted their employees last year from using social networking websites during their working hours.

Almost 63% of employees from different companies, who participated in the research study, told that they were stringently warned not to use social networking websites, like Facebook and Twitter at work.

Nevertheless, 45% of employees deemed that they were instructed to do so just because of the fear of posting negative comments about their bosses and companies on the websites as opposed to productivity problems.
